Pop Smoke MDMA pills: Extreme differences in active ingredient content

Last Saturday (February 21, 2026), a Pop Smoke pill with an MDMA content of 43.2 mg was analyzed at Drug Checking in Zurich. In the past, this pill has been found to have varying doses. The pills often contained extremely high amounts of MDMA. Now, for the first time, a pill with such a low MDMA content has been found. Attached below is an excerpt of Pop Smoke pills that were submitted to various drug checking services in Switzerland, including our drug checking service in Zurich.

Important note:
MDMA pills with the same appearance (logo, size, weight, color, etc.) may still have different dosages and/or contain different active ingredients!

More than 1.5 mg MDMA per kg body weight for men and 1.3 mg per kg body weight for women is too much (e.g. woman 60 kg x 1.3 = max. 78 mg MDMA and man 80 kg x 1.5 = max. 120 mg MDMA).

Safer use messages:

• Analysis: Have your substances tested in a drug checking program

• If you don't have the opportunity to have substances analyzed, test a maximum of one-third of a pill first, as there are many high-dose tablets in circulation.
• Wait 2 hours after taking the tablet, as tablets with unexpected active ingredients are often in circulation, which can have a later onset of action.
• Remember: drink non-alcoholic and isotonic drinks (3 dl / hour) and take breaks in the fresh air from time to time to prevent overheating / dehydration.
• Accept when the effect runs out, because "re-spiking" increases the toxicity (poisonousness) of MDMA.
