DIZ specialist event 2024

On June 6, the annual specialist event of the Drug Information Center DIZ took place in the Debattierhaus Karl der Grosse. In addition to current figures and findings from drug checking, presentations were given on this year's focus topic of synthetic opioids.

Synthetic opioids such as fentanyl are on the rise globally. With the ban on opium cultivation in Afghanistan and the increase in the production of highly potent synthetic opioids, the risk of synthetic opioids establishing themselves on the drug market in Zurich is increasing. Together with international experts, the DIZ shed light on developments, challenges and possible solutions in dealing with this phenomenon.
