Anabolic steroids

Once a month, on the first Tuesday, DIZ Zurich offers an AAS (anabolic androgenic steroids) drug checking service, in which substances taken to build muscle can be tested for purity, mislabeling, and contamination. The service is free and anonymous. Two samples can be submitted for analysis.

Drug Checking is located at Wasserwerkstrasse 17 in 8006 Zurich (next to the Jugendkulturhaus Dynamo). There are no parking spaces available on site.

Registration

An appointment must be made in advance in order to hand in the substance. Appointments can be booked online one week in advance (on Tuesday from 4 p.m.). Click on Make an appointment above.

What can be analysed?

Liquid samples (e.g. ampoules) and tablets can be dispensed. Here an overview of possible analyzable substances. If you cannot find your substance on the list, we are unfortunately unable to analyze it.

- For the ampoules, we need at least 1 ml; if possible in closed ampoules (if the ampoules have already been opened, there is a risk of germs forming or having formed, which can lead to abscesses if consumed intramuscularly. Germs and other bacteria cannot be analyzed by our laboratory)

- For AAS in tablet form, we need 5 tablets; due to the often imprecise production in the laboratory, the active ingredients, quality and content of each tablet can vary massively.

- We can analyze the sympathomimetic clebuterol. We need one tablet.

The sample material provided is used in its entirety for laboratory analysis and is not returned.

Result notification

The results of the analysis can be obtained next Friday online, in person on site or by telephone on +41 44 415 76 46 (between 14:00 and 17:00). You will need the sample run number and the password you agreed on when you handed in your sample. If you no longer have this information, please call the above number.
