Tripsitters accompany people who use psychoactive substances. They serve as a point of support and contact for the person using and try to make the experience of using as safe and pleasant as possible. Tripsitting is intended to act as a safety net that supports the user in challenging situations during consumption. Possible tasks include, for example, changing the setting (music, room design, escort to another room, etc.), providing food, down talking (reassuring coaxing). The person making the trip should be sober, familiar with the person using and informed about the effects, risks and side effects of the substance.
