Anabolic steroid drug checking to be continued as a regular service

We are pleased to inform you that after the first two successful pilot phases, anabolic steroid drug checking will become a regular service.

Over the past two years, we have gained initial experience in testing steroids and advising consumers. The substances supplied were analyzed for purity, misdeclaration, impurities, etc. and the results were communicated to the users. These first two "test phases" were actively used so that initial experience and data on the consumption behavior and needs of anabolic steroid users could be collected. In addition, we at DIZ are endeavoring to gain insights into whether and how our long-standing and successful "Drug Checking" service can generate added value for AAS users. Initial results will be published on our website in the coming months.

Every substance withdrawal involves a counseling session. A questionnaire is used to discuss consumption patterns, motives and safer use with the client. Safer use kits (clean syringes, disinfection utensils and instructions on safer injection) can also be obtained from us. If required, we can refer medical questions or clarifications to Arud Zurich (Dr. Raphael Magnolini).‍

What can I hand in?
‍Liquidsamples (ampoules) and tablets can be handed in. Here is an overview of possible analyzable substances. We cannot analyze substances that are not listed!

For the ampoules (if possible still sealed) we need at least 2ml of sample material.
For substances in tablet form we need 5 pieces; due to the often imprecise production in the laboratory, the active ingredients, quality and content can vary massively from tablet to tablet.

Result‍

The analysis result can be requested on the following Friday from 14:00 by telephone on +41 44 415 76 46 (between 14:00 and 17:00) or in person on site.
