Synthetic cannabinoids
Risk assessment
MDMB-4en-PINACA is a highly potent synthetic cannabinoid that has been linked to several deaths worldwide.
Synthetic cannabinoids are largely unexplored substances. More precise information on effects, risks, interactions with other substances or long-term consequences is therefore hardly available.
If synthetic cannabinoids are sold as hashish containing THC, as in this case, this can quickly lead to risky overdoses and/or strong side effects that are often harmful to health.
Compared to naturally occurring THC, acute and severe poisoning is more likely with synthetic cannabinoids. The use of synthetic cannabinoids can lead to rapid fainting, palpitations, high blood pressure, seizures, nausea with vomiting, loss of mental capacity, confusion, delusions, acute psychosis, craving, aggressive and violent behaviour and even a heart attack. The high potency of synthetic cannabinoids increases the risk of overdose.
In addition, delta-8-THC was detected. Delta-8-THC occurs naturally, if at all, only in very small quantities in the cannabis plant. It can, however, be produced from a CBD extract that is chemically treated with an acid in a solvent. It has a similar intoxicating effect to delta-9-THC, but is slightly less potent. During the conversion of CBD to delta-8-THC, numerous synthesis by-products are formed, about the effects of which nothing is known. It cannot be ruled out that these further by-products have toxic effects. Since these synthesis by-products are not separated by the manufacturers and thus Delta-8-THC is applied together to cannabis flowers or products, an unknown health risk is taken when consuming them.
The interaction of delta-8-THC with MDMB-4en-PINACA is completely unknown!
Consumption is strongly discouraged!

Safer Use
Testing
With newly purchased, unfamiliar cannabis products, it is advisable to test only a small amount the first time (take two or three puffs) and then wait about 15 minutes for the effect to develop. If the effect is unusual, do not continue to use the product!
Mixed use
Avoid mixed use. Mixed use with other substances (including alcohol or medications) is very risky because of the unpredictable and still unknown interactions. Avoid mixed use with MAO inhibitors, opioids or tranquilizers.
Mix well
Mix your cannabis products well before consumption (ideally use a grinder) to avoid a high concentration of possible synthetic cannabinoids on individual flower parts. Particular care should be taken with residual material that has fallen off the outer parts of the flower, as this is often likely to contain a particularly high concentration of synthetic cannabinoids.
