Risk assessment

A sample declared as mephedrone (4-MMC) did not contain mephedrone, but a mixture of 3-MMC, caffeine and dimethylpentylone.

3-MMC belongs to the cathinone group of substances and is very closely related to mephedrone. The effects of the two substances are therefore also comparable. The effect of 3-MMC is mainly empathogenic (increasing empathy), entactogenic (intensifying emotions), stimulating, euphoric and aphrodisiac. 3-MMC is described by users as less euphoric and empathy-enhancing than mephedrone. This can lead to an unintentionally high dose of 3-MMC being consumed. Little information is available on the risks, side effects and long-term consequences of 3-MMC.

Dimethylpentylone (also known as dipentylone) is a stimulant from the cathinone group. The effects of 3-MMC and dimethylpentylone are presumably similar due to their chemical relationship. Users report a stimulating and euphoric effect. Side effects reported include palpitations, headaches, anxiety, irritability and weakness. There is hardly any reliable information on dosage, side effects, toxicity and long-term consequences.

More info about dimethylpentylone on external website...

With 3-MMC and dimethylpentylone, the craving (strong desire to crave) is very pronounced and the psychological dependency potential is significantly higher than with other empathogenic substances such as MDMA.

Mixed consumption with caffeine also carries the risk of unpleasant side effects such as circulatory problems, restlessness and tremors.

Due to a lack of scientific studies on dimethylpentylone and possible interactions, we advise against consumption! False declarations are often made for powders and crystalline samples; it is therefore essential to have these tested before consumption.

Analysis

Have your substances tested in a Drug Checking

Testing

If you do not have the possibility to have substances analysed, always test a small amount to avoid overdoses.

Wait and see

Wait 2 hours after oral intake, as there are always powders / crystals in circulation with unexpected active ingredients, which can have a later onset of action.

Utensils

Always use your own sniffing utensils when applying powders nasally (sniffing) to avoid infecting yourself or others with diseases.
