A substance declared to be cocaine was found to contain a mixture of amphetamine, caffeine, phenacetin and lidocaine are detected. In the case of unknowing use, there is an increased chance that users will consume a high dose of amphetamine, which takes effect over a long period of time. In addition, there is a risk that a large quantity of extenders such as phenacetin, lidocaine and caffeine will be taken if the desired cocaine effect is not achieved and the user therefore continues to use. These can lead to various side effects such as palpitations and nausea.
In the case of powders and crystalline samples, false declarations occur time and again; it is therefore also essential to have these tested before consumption!
