Risk assessment

A sample declared as heroin contained MDMA in addition to heroin, paracetamol, caffeine, papaverine and noscapine. MDMA is a synthetic amphetamine derivative and belongs to the group of (entactogenic) stimulants.

The combination of heroin and MDMA means a mixture about which little is known and which can be described as exceptional. One danger is that the two substances dampen each other and thus a delayed overdose can occur when one of the two substances wears off. In addition, there is an increased risk of blood vessel constriction (vasoconstriction) when MDMA is consumed intravenously.

In case of a heroin overdose, there is a risk of respiratory depression with fatal consequences. In addition, when using heroin, mixed use with other depressant substances such as alcohol, ketamine, other opioids or benzodiazepines should be avoided, as these further increase the risk of respiratory depression.

Unexpected substances or synthesis by-products are repeatedly found in powders and crystalline samples; it is therefore essential to have these tested before consumption!

Analysis

Have your substances tested in a Drug Checking

Testing

If you do not have the possibility to have substances analysed, always test a small amount to avoid overdoses.

Wait and see

Wait 2 hours after oral intake, as there are always powders / crystals in circulation with unexpected active ingredients, which can have a later onset of action.

Utensils

Always use your own sniffing utensils when applying powders nasally (sniffing) to avoid infecting yourself or others with diseases.
