Risk assessment

A sample declared as 3-MMC did not contain 3-MMC, but N-ethylpentedrone (NEP).

N-ethylpentedrone (also known as N-ethyl-nor-pentedrone or NEP) is a stimulant from the cathinone group. N-ethylpentedrone is structurally closely related to pentedrone. The effects of 3-MMC and N-ethylpentedrone are presumably similar due to their chemical relationship. Users report a stimulating, euphoric and slightly entactogenic effect. The side effects when coming down are described by users as unpleasant. The following side effects were also reported: Headaches, anxiety, irritability, depression, drive/motivation difficulties and bouts of weakness. It must also be assumed that the consumption of N-ethylpentedrone can trigger a strong desire for further consumption (craving). There is hardly any reliable information on dosage, side effects, toxicity and long-term consequences.

Due to a lack of scientific studies on N-ethylpentedrone, we advise against consumption!

Misdeclaration of powders and crystalline samples is common, so be sure to have them tested before consumption.

Analysis

Have your substances tested in a Drug Checking

Testing

If you do not have the possibility to have substances analysed, always test a small amount to avoid overdoses.

Wait and see

Wait 2 hours after oral intake, as there are always powders / crystals in circulation with unexpected active ingredients, which can have a later onset of action.

Utensils

Always use your own sniffing utensils when applying powders nasally (sniffing) to avoid infecting yourself or others with diseases.
