This pill purchased via Telegram and declared as 2C-B did not contain 2C-B but α-PHiP (α-pyrrolidinoisohexanophenone).
α-PHiP is a stimulant from the cathinone group and a structural isomer of the parent substance pyrovalerone. α-PHiP was derived from basic pharmaceutical research and has not yet been clinically tested on the human body. α-PHiP has a strong stimulating effect, especially in high doses, and has a different action profile than 2C-B. The strong, primarily stimulating and mood-enhancing effect of α-PHiP can quickly become frightening and disturbing if consumed unintentionally, as this pill does not have the expected psychedelic 2C-B effect. It is assumed that α-PHiP can pose an additional, unknown health risk, especially when mixed with other psychoactive substances. According to user reports, heart palpitations, vasoconstriction (cold extremities, loss of sensitivity, erectile dysfunction) and paranoia often occur as adverse effects. There have been several deaths in connection with α-PHiP in recent years.
There are studies suggesting that α-PiHP is more effective at inhibiting dopamine and noradrenaline than serotonin. Due to this and the fact that α-PHiP is closely related to α-PHP and α-PVP, the effect is probably comparable to these substances. The substance probably also has a similar potency to α-PHP. Due to the lack of or insufficient data on risks, side effects, toxicity and long-term effects, we strongly advise against using this substance. The MDMA it contains is not perceived in such a small dose and can therefore be disregarded.
