Risk assessment

These as mephedrone (4-MMC, 4-methylmethcathinone) did not contain mephedrone, but a mixture of amphetamine and caffeine.

If these substances are mixed up or misdeclared, the risk of overdose is high, as amphetamine in particular is dosed much lower than mephedrone. In the present sample, however, the risk of overdose is rather low due to the low amphetamine content. The effect of amphetamine also differs greatly from that of mephedrone. Amphetamine, especially in higher doses, has a very strong stimulating and uplifting effect, whereas mephedrone, in addition to its stimulating effect, also has a strong euphoric effect.

Caffeine also has a stimulating effect, but much less so than amphetamine. High doses of caffeine lead to sweating, fluttering of the heart, urge to urinate, cardiac arrhythmia, severe perceptual disturbances, tremors, nervousness and sleep disorders. In this sample, the risk of a caffeine overdose is high due to the high caffeine content.

False declarations also occur time and again with powders and crystalline samples; it is therefore essential to have these tested before consumption!
