2-FDCK is related to the better-known ketamine. It is considered a new psychoactive substance (NPS), as the substance is poorly researched and very little reliable information is available. According to user reports, the effect of 2-FDCK is basically comparable to that of ketamine. The effect is highly dependent on the dose. At low doses, it has a disinhibiting and relaxing effect, similar to alcohol. Higher doses have an increasingly trance-like or psychedelic character. The perception of the environment and one's own body changes, the ability to move and express oneself is restricted, one's own body may become detached and the ego may dissolve or merge with the environment.
This means that 2-FDCK has a completely different effect to the substance it was sold as. 4-MMC (mephedrone) is a stimulant and empathy-enhancing substance, the effect is often described as a mixture between MDMA and cocaine. 2-FDCK tends to be dosed lower than 4-MMC (mephedrone). This means that there is a risk of consuming a high dose of 2-FDCK in the event of unintentional use. As the effect differs from that of 4-MMC, this can lead to over-exertion and panic, the dampening effect poses a health risk, especially as 2-FDCK as a dampening substance poses a higher risk with mixed consumption.
