Risk assessment

One sample declared as 3-MMC did not contain 3-MMC, but N-ethylpentedrone (NEP).

N-ethylpentedrone (also known as N-ethyl-nor-pentedrone or NEP) is a stimulant from the cathinone group. The effects of 3-MMC and N-ethylpentedrone are presumably similar due to their chemical relationship, but N-ethylpentedrone is dosed much lower than 3-MMC. In the event of misdeclaration, as in this case, there is a very high risk of overdosing during consumption and severe side effects such as overstimulation, circulatory problems and anxiety.

Users report a stimulating, euphoric and slightly entactogenic effect when consuming N-Ethylpentedrone. The side effects when coming down are described by users as unpleasant. The following side effects were also reported: Headaches, anxiety, irritability, depression, drive/motivation difficulties and bouts of weakness. In addition, it must be assumed that the consumption of N-ethylpentedrone can trigger a strong desire for further consumption (craving). There is hardly any reliable information on dosage, side effects, toxicity and long-term consequences.

In addition, due to the lack of scientific studies on N-ethylpenetrone, we advise against consumption! False declarations are often made for powders and crystalline samples; it is therefore essential to have these tested before consumption.

Analysis

Have your substances tested in a Drug Checking

Testing

If you do not have the possibility to have substances analysed, always test a small amount to avoid overdoses.

Wait and see

Wait 2 hours after oral intake, as there are always powders / crystals in circulation with unexpected active ingredients, which can have a later onset of action.

Utensils

When snorting or injecting powders, always use your own equipment to avoid infecting yourself or others with diseases.
