Risk assessment

A pill declared as MDMA contained only the new psychoactive substance 5-MAPB (5-methylaminopropylbenzofuran) instead of MDMA.

5-MAPB belongs to the group of benzofurans and was developed as a substitute for MDMA. The substance acts on similar neurotransmitter systems as MDMA and produces similar effects. However, there is a risk of unexpected differences in effects, as 5-MAPB has a slightly longer duration of action and altered effects than MDMA. The onset of action can be slower, which can lead to premature overdosing.

According to user reports, 5-MAPB causes more nausea and a more pronounced "hangover" the next day than MDMA. 5-MAPB is a little-researched new psychoactive substance. There is no reliable information available on dosage, side effects, interactions, toxicity and long-term consequences. Its use is therefore not recommended.

Pills are often misdeclared; it is therefore essential to have them tested before use!

Analysis

Have your substances tested in a Drug Checking

Testing

If you do not have the possibility to have substances analyzed, first test a maximum of one third of the pill, since very many high-dose pills are in circulation.

Wait and see

Wait 2 hours after taking the medication, as there are always pills with unexpected active ingredients in circulation, which can have a later onset of action.

Drinking

Remember: drink non-alcoholic and isotonic drinks (3 dl / hour) and take breaks in the fresh air from time to time to prevent overheating / dehydration.

Accept

Accept when the effect runs out, because "re-spiking" increases the toxicity (poisonousness) of MDMA.
