Risk assessment

A sample declared as methamphetamine contained the stimulant new psychoactive substance 2-aminophenylbutane (2-APB) instead of methamphetamine.

2-APB is structurally related to methamphetamine, but presumably has a much weaker effect. There is a risk of overdose, as users may repeatedly consume further doses due to the weaker effect. 2-APB presumably requires higher doses for comparable effects. The effect profile of 2-APB differs from methamphetamine in that it produces a less intense euphoria and possibly a different duration of effect.

2-APB is a very little researched new psychoactive substance. There is no reliable information available on the dosage, side effects, interactions and long-term consequences of 2-APB. Consumption is therefore not recommended!

In the case of powders and crystalline samples, false declarations occur time and again; it is therefore also essential to have these tested before consumption!

Have your substances tested in a Drug Checking

Testing

If you do not have the possibility to have substances analysed, always test a small amount to avoid overdoses.

Wait and see

Wait 2 hours after oral intake, as there are always powders / crystals in circulation with unexpected active ingredients, which can have a later onset of action.

Utensils

When snorting or injecting powders, always use your own equipment to avoid infecting yourself or others with diseases.
