4-HO-MET belongs to the group of tryptamines and is structurally related to psilocybin/psilocin.
Users generally describe the effect of 4-HO-MET as more pleasant than psilocybin or psilocin-containing mushrooms (4-HO-DMT), as the effect is less "head numbing" and the visual effects are more prominent. The psychedelic images are described as vivid and colorful.
Very little data is available on the pharmacological properties and toxicity of 4-HO-MET. It is assumed that it has a similar risk and toxicity profile to psilocybin/psilocin.
